How I can apply for job here with please??
Loved Charlie's, tons of cool things hanging inside to keep you occupied. Only enjoyed a drink but need to check it out if you're in the area
MoreWhere beers are stopped amid walls laden with history
Very cool place but I would suggest eating elsewhere and coming here drinks!
Love the place. Great service!
Charlie’s Bar is one of the best places in Aruba, if not the best. It’s best to go with time, so that it’s true essence is fully appreciated. I recommend going early, and spending at least one hour or two there. The beer is cold, the food is great, and the staff is professional and friendly. As you sip on your drink and wait for your food, take a look at all the art and items inside the bar. Charlie’s Bar is better than an art gallery or museum. There is 77 years worth of history hanging on and off the walls. I make it a practice of visiting Charlie’s every trip, and am, and never will, be disappointed. I don’t see a lot of people having lunch, but the food is really good. The shrimp is good, and so are their cuts of beef. I like to leave something at the bar, every trip. It creates a special bond with the place, knowing a piece of you is left there. Keep up the good work guys, see you soon.
MoreWe had a great time with Charlie. He filled us in about the history of his place and I had his smoked ribs, they were delicious!
MoreI loved Charlie's Bar. The drinks were strong and food was tasty. The service was funny. Expect to be razzed at the bar - I thought it was funny and delightful. Others that may be more shy or reserved may find it gruff. Just a warning. I personally thought it was part of the charm of the place. Would definitely go back. The "shrimp scampy" was delicious.
MoreA longtime landmark had fun with the bartender
My wife and I were in Charlie's Bar back in August 2018 and this week of February 2019. What can we say? Well excellent atmosphere and really nice people.I finally had the (huge) lobster and the wife the rib eye.. Delicious!! Prepared by Charlie's secret sauce. Sit in the bar and the conversation we'll keep you going. If you like tequila, try their own(smoothhhh). So if you are in Aruba,go to Charlie's,is a must. can't wait till July,we're going back.!! thank you Raul,Tony and Charlie.
More👌
My wife and myself have been to Aruba many times and Charlie's is a must everttime
MoreA very nice place, with interesting local art. The staff is very friendly and the food is very good. This is a place you simply have to experience!
MoreWe went for lunch and the food and service were great! I would totally given 5 stars if not for the location. The area is really sketchy, there was a crazy man yelling through the door and windows, staff ran him off several times with a billyclub. There were hookers on the street and I wondered if we were going to have a car when we got back to where we parked. I would not suggesting going after dark. So many unique things to look at inside, you could probably spend all day and never see everything. Really cool place!
MoreThe interior has been done very nicely with alot of antique decoration pieces. The server/bartender was very friendly. He served us water even though we decided not to eat here.
MoreWonderful people working there. We felt really welcomed!
Great place, great food, and fun times all on island time.
Came here as we rented a Jeep to tour the island! Giving it a two because I’m not a suck up! This place is AWESOME!! Please when visiting Aruba... you Must come to Charlie’s Bar! The best on the island. 💕
MoreNice to see the things they have collect during the years. You can have a quite chat, while using something to drink
MoreNice and cozy. And the food is great.
Visited with my family (4 kids under 10.) I found Charlie's to be a pretty neat place. The atmosphere was enjoyable, the food was very good, and the service was friendly (if a little slow.) That being said, the area isn't exactly the kind of place you want to hang out. Parked the car and walked past a strip joint (at least I think it was,) with a few of the ladies hanging outside. Walked the block and saw that most other stores were abandoned with broken windows and iron bars. Food and drinks, while very good, were expensive. Prices here were similar to the high rise area he the island. $10.50 for a cold pint of Balashi. While I'm glad I experienced this place, I can't say I'd return; Certainly not with my family.
MoreHave to go to Charlies...eat anything you see on the menu its all good!!☺
Great food great staff
On vacay and was expecting a better experience. Sadly, $69 for 3 mixed drinks, a chill draft and a 6 piece coconut shrimp appetizer. Go to zeerovers or La granja! Which are top notch and considerably more affordable. I knew going into this trip that Aruba was pricey. Don't get me wrong, I understand the ambiance of Charlie's, but it seats like 18 max. Pretty small place for these prices. Cool place, lesson learned.
MoreNice place to get some good , original food.
A different experience.. Just had the best Shrimp Ceviche!
What can I say other than this establishment excels at being a bar. The atmosphere is decades in the making, the food is truly great and the beer is ice cold. And behind the bar, a group of knowledgeable and handsome men who truly know their craft.
MoreAmazing food and the place is unique. It gives a different experience
Great place to visit for drinks and apps.
The food is great, the service has the best humor. The wall decor is entertaining.
MoreYou must visit this picturesque bar while you go to San Nicholas. If you can bring something from your hometown with location they'll post it or hang.Drinks and bartenders are awesome.! 🍺🍹👍
MoreGood for a cold beer The ambience is nice. Lots of memorabilia. Never tried the food. Do it
MoreGreat casual bar very friendly bartender and waiter
Cool spot! Prices are somewhat expensive but service in included. Worth visiting.
MoreWords cannot describe this place. 3 generations have run it collecting memorabilia from visitors all over the world. It's cluttered chaotic and utterly charming. The food is absolutely epic specializing in fresh seafood with homemade bread and sauces. Good selection of beer and cocktails that will knock your socks off. Highly recommended to the point of saying if you haven't been to Charlie's you haven't been to Aruba.
MoreThere is a huge difference in comical and sarcasm one employee here is rude and sarcastic. Trust me I can take it just as well as give it. When the four of us asked for our check you would have thought maybe since there is two couples they might want a seperate check but nope they also auto magically charge you a tip to the bill probably because he wouldn't get tips of customers weren't forced to. We have enjoyed Aruba but the four of us wouldn't return or recommend this place. I'm sure this company will have a rude remark to my post and I fully expect it. Go somewhere else your vacation is to important.
MoreWow! Thanks for the great meal and atmosphere! We’re thankful the bus driver knew where you were at and pointed us in the right direction. It was great meeting everybody and having the best meal on the island! Plus the beer in ice cold glasses put it over the top :-)
MorePlace is super cool and quirky. If you’re bored with the person you might be there with - just have a look around all the knickknacks there’s PLENTY of it.Btw I’m freaking gasping at the two one star reviews with responses 🤣🤣OMFG and China Town 💀
MoreFirst of all, let me just say, if you dont have extra cash to buy drinks for the rest of us, dont bother stopping by. The 80 years of paraphernalia wouldn't interest you, anyway. Raul's banter would probably drive you out. That is, if you could find a place to park in the first place. There's no fruit cups, or baked sh*t, or anything else like that. The live music is ok, if you carry your own capo. We'll never be back, unless we're back next year. We'll tell everyone we know you.
MoreAtmosphere excellent, service excellent, food not so good and overpriced as compared to similar places
MoreThis is the best bar we have visited on the island. The drinks are priced evenly with the rest of the island but the charm of Charlie's and the atmosphere is what will lure you back. We had the best conversation with the bartender, learning about true Aruban culture and economics, but with a flare of sass. The decor is hilarious. Drop your guard a bit and allow yourself to laugh. AMAZING food to boot! We will be back.
MoreIf you can go during off hours sit at the bar and talk with the bartenders. They are a wealth of knowledge on the history of Aruba. The steak tips and grilled shrimp keep me coming back.
MoreWonderful. Friendly. Really good fish. Moderately priced. Go!
Overflowing with atmosphere. I hear food varies, but we were very happy with the fish chowder and catch of the day choices. Family visits during the day for sure. Charlie's is in the San Nicolas red light district; evening activities are likely interesting.
MoreBest place!! Love it!! Great and friendly service, Nice atmosphere!
Definitely worth a visit, very eclectic decor. Nice menu, Raul was great host/server/bartender.
MoreAmazing place.. great food.. awesome service.. ask for Raul!
We are in Aruba for a week. We always look for fun, interesting places to have a drink. This is the best place in Aruba so far. I had the house fruity rum drink. It was delicious. The menu looked wonderful and the food smelled great. We are vegan for health reasons but i would have gone with the shrimp. Good place to come!
MoreGreat place for a break and a drink. Amazing collection of stuff! Very fun.
You walk in a place with like Charlie's and you really don't know what to expect. You look around and it's full of so much history, every part of this bar has some story to tell, old school kaiso & calypso music playing among other classic caribbean beats. I went into this bar just to say i visited, had the food(which was the best food i had on my Aruba Trip) & have a couple beers, just stay about an hour. I left 5 hours later. Charlie and the family are awesome, friendly, funny & maybe a tad crazy (Yes Raul that means you!) I went in a customer & left feeling like family! Made a bunch of new friends from different states in the US! Charlie's bar is absotively my favoritest spot in Aruba! Lastly when you go there, you must have the special 'Honeymoon sauce' with your food & Charlie's very own Tequila! Mashi Danki!
